The Vila do Bispo Council will reduce the Municipal Property Tax (IMI) rate from 0,40% to 0,35% in 2019.

Despite this measure implying a decrease in municipal revenue of more than 300 euros, in 2019, Adelino Soares' executive maintains «the strategy of investment in housing necessary for the settlement of young couples and, mainly, the inversion of the population decrease, which has been taking place in the county for several decades», says the City Council, in a press release.

In this context, the additional amounts of this revenue will be channeled to new investments in the housing area, through the acquisition of real estate (land) in the county's parishes, in order to make the Municipality more attractive to be born, grow, live, work and age.

In 2018, part of the amount collected from the increase in revenue was earmarked for the acquisition of land for housing, in the parish of Budens, for the value of 660 thousand euros, with the deed having been carried out on the 16th of July.
