Faro will create an Inclusion Desk

New service will provide specialized support for people with disabilities or disabilities

Faro it will now have an Inclusion Desk, to provide specialized care to people with disabilities or incapacity. The collaboration protocol between the Chamber of Faro and the National Institute for Rehabilitation, entities that will promote the creation of this area in the Algarve capital, was approved at the Council meeting on 17 December.

As the municipality explains, "the creation of this branch will allow the gathering of all information on existing rights, benefits and resources, including social benefits and responses, employment and professional training, products and technical support/help, tax benefits, accessibility and transport , early intervention and education, among others».

to the Chamber of Faro, this branch will become the «main resource in support and search for the most appropriate solutions for each specific situation of citizens with disabilities and/or incapacity».

The municipality of Faro considers that "access to information is a basic condition for the full exercise of citizenship, as only in this way will these citizens be able to assume their civic rights and duties recognized by any citizen under the rule of law."

With this protocol, the Municipality of Faro it aims to “significantly increase the quantity and quality of information aimed at citizens with disabilities and/or incapacity”.

"This is an initiative that essentially aims to promote the defense of their rights through the provision of services in partnership with the competent entities of the central administration, thus reinforcing the social responses already implemented by the municipality", concludes the Chamber of Faro.
