Farense lost 0-1 to Benfica B, in a game counting for the 11th round of the II League, played this Thursday, December 6th, in Faro. The Algarve has two consecutive games without winning.

With a well-composed São Luís Stadium, Benfica B's team entered the game better. Jota, European under-19 champion for Portugal, soon showed why he was appointed as one of Benfica's most promising players.

As early as 9 minutes, he received a ball on the edge of the area and shot the ball hitting Daniel Fernandes' goalpost. The warning was given and Farense seemed to wake up with fright.

On 20′, Irobiso started from the right, isolated himself, but, with only the goalkeeper in front of him, he fired at Zlobin. After three minutes, the same Irobiso gave the best follow-up to a cross by Jorge Ribeiro, with a shot into the back of the net.

However, when the goal was already being celebrated in the stands, the assistant referee annulled the farense goal, for offside, and the 0-0 remained.

Farense knew how to balance the match, appeared with more danger in attack and, at 35′, striker Irobiso had a good opportunity to score again, but, inside the area, he headed a little over the bar.

With no changes at half-time, from part to part, the game started more monotonous in the second part. Benfica B continued to have greater possession of the ball, but the only real danger came at 55′. Pedro Amaral took a free-kick, with the ball passing close to the crossbar of Daniel Fernandes' goal.

In the 69th minute, it was Jota who had the goal in his feet. The young player received the spherical, got rid of two opponents and, at the edge of the area, made a great shot that went just past the post.

In search of victory, Rui Duarte, coach of Farense, brought in Tavinho and Fábio Nunes. The Algarvian team appeared more often in the opponent's area and had a sovereign opportunity to score, in the 79th minute.

Jorge Ribeiro, in his own way, took a free-kick on the edge of the area, with the ball slamming into Zlobin's goal post.

He didn't score for Farense, he scored for Benfica B. On 85′, Diogo Anjos, newly entered, received a cross inside the area, dribbled an opponent and shot without a chance for Daniel Fernandes. The 0-1 was made for the Benfica fans.

The Algarvian team could have tied, already in added time, but Fábio Nunes, after dribbling through several opponents, and with only Zlobin ahead, shot wide. It was the swan song for those commanded by Rui Duarte.

Farense has 16 points, occupying, as a condition, the 6th place in the table.
