The exhibition “Looking without fear of seeing”, by Elsa dos Ramos, was inaugurated on December 4th, at the Municipal Gallery of São Brás de Alportel.
“December is a month of solidarity. Each year a new solidarity art exhibition invades the Gallery of the true Christmas spirit. In 2018, it is no exception, presenting to the public a photography exhibition, authored by Elsa dos Ramos, which invites them to "Look without fear of seeing" the rehabilitation, paths and challenges, a world that the world does not see and does not knows», says the City Council of São Brás.
Elsa dos Ramos started a new life 14 years ago. During its long rehabilitation process, it captured images of the work being carried out at the Centro de Medicina e Rehabilitation do Sul, with people who are victims of accidents, spinal cord injuries, strokes, traumas and other types of pathologies.
"Each image shows a moment of work and effort by users and professionals to achieve small big victories that make all the difference in the quality of life of these people, in their independence and in their self-esteem", says the municipality.
«To each image, the author added a phrase of encouragement and respect, which inspires us all».
This exhibition will be on display until 31 December, in partnership with EXISTIR – Association for the Intervention and Rehabilitation of Disabled and Disadvantaged Populations.
