Children with special needs in Loulé had an inclusive vacation

Loulé Municipality extended the “Holidays for All” initiative to the Christmas break

Children with Special Educational Needs from Loulé schools had a very different first week of Christmas vacation. The Loulé Chamber promoted the “Christmas Holidays for All” initiative, between the 17th and 21st of December, which provided “inclusive, playful and educational moments” for students.

«After the huge success of the “Holidays for All” and “Holidays for All XL” programs, with about 1000 children and young people attending weekly, during the Easter and summer holidays, the municipality has now extended the program to the interruption period Christmas school, in an action aimed at children with special educational needs», according to the City Council of Loulé.

With this measure, the municipality sought to provide “a quality response to the needs of families and students during school breaks, also promoting moments of interaction between the young participants”.

The Chamber considers that "this is an initiative that is of great importance in terms of inclusion in education, helping to promote public education of excellence accessible to all".
