CRESC Algarve 2020 finances up to 80% the hiring of "highly qualified" human resources

Tenders involve a total value of 1,59 million euros of eligible expenditure

This week, the CRESC Algarve 2020 Operational Program launched two new notices to promote the adaptation of companies and entrepreneurs to change through the hiring of highly qualified human resources.

These two competitions involve a total amount of 1,59 million euros of eligible expenditure, to encourage the hiring of graduates, masters, doctorates or post-docs.

The tenders are aimed at micro, small and medium-sized companies (SME) and collaborative laboratories (CoLAB), which can apply for support that can finance up to 80% of salary costs for a maximum period of three years.

In the case of small and medium-sized companies in the Algarve, applications run until December 31 of the next year. For the case of collaborative laboratories in the region, they are open until 16 June.

Collaborative Laboratories

Regulation No. 486-A/2017, of 12 September, amended by Declaration of Rectification No. 662/2017, of 29 September, establishes the rules for the procedure for attributing the title and designation of Collaborative Laboratory (CoLAB) .

In this context, CoLAB is understood as a private non-profit association or company, already created or to be created, consisting of companies, research units, associated laboratories, higher education institutions, technological interface centers and other intermediate institutions, technological centers , business associations and other relevant partners of the productive, social or cultural fabric, national or international, such as scientific institutions, State laboratories, autarchies and institutions associated with local organizations, hospitals and healthcare facilities, museums, archives, or social institutions (considered as participating entities).

After evaluation of the applications and the consequent attribution of the title of “Collaborative Laboratory” (CoLAB), the financing phase now begins through the opening of specific competitions to support the activities and projects of the Collaborative Laboratories under the Portugal 2020 Program, of the programs regional operational programs or other programs that may support the proposed activities, benefiting from European Union funds, and in the case of the Algarve they come from the European Social Fund (ESF).

The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), under the National Reform Program (PNR), the Interface Program and the Agenda “Commitment to Science and Knowledge is co-responsible with ANI – National Innovation Agency (ANI) , for the process of constitution and operationalization of the creation of Collaborative Laboratories.
