Floating dock at Foz de Odeleite will be replaced

Complete replacement of walkways and repair of the access bridge

Docapesca opened the tender, with a base price of 75 thousand euros, for the replacement of the floating pier at Foz de Odeleite, in the municipality of Castro Marim, which was installed in the 1990s as part of a project to promote maritime activity. tourist along the Guadiana river.

The intervention to be carried out consists of the integral replacement of the walkways and the improvement of the access bridge, which, over the period of service, has been degrading, a fact that has recently led to the ban on its use due to the collapse of the floats and the consequent submersion of one of the platforms.

Docapesca recalls that the pier is made up of three floating walkways connected to each other, with a total length of 36 meters, which "will be fully replaced".

Equipped with the necessary means of mooring and protection, the new structure will consist of three floating gangway elements with a galvanized steel frame, wooden deck and concrete floats with an expanded polystyrene core.

The current 15-metre long metal pier access bridge will be repaired through the renovation of the anti-corrosion paint.

The deck of the bridge and lashes will be entirely replaced by a 21mm thick exotic wood 'deck', restoring safety conditions for users.
