The blood collection “Together we help more (+)” takes place on the 19th of December, between 9:30 am and 13:00 pm, at the building of the Humanitarian Association of Voluntary Firefighters of Silves (AHBVS).
On that day, free screenings will be carried out by the Volunteer Fire Department, namely measurement of the glycemic index, measurement of blood pressure and measurement of cholesterol.
According to the Municipality of Silves, "sensitizing the community to the need to strengthen the blood reserves in our hospitals and appealing to the spirit of solidarity of young people, regarding the importance of blood donation, are the main objectives of this action promoted annually" .
For logistical reasons, pre-registration must be made with the Youth Section of the Municipality of Silves (phone: 282 440 800), with the Humanitarian Association of Silves Volunteer Firefighters (phone: 282 445 452) or ADSBA (phone: 282 417 295).
The initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Silves in partnership with the AHBVS, the Barlavento Algarvio Blood Donors Association (ADSBA), the Algarve Hospital Center and the Portuguese Institute of Blood and Transplantation.
