CHUA's Pediatrics Service debates “New Realities in Caring”

The event will be attended by «reputable experts in the field»

“New Realities in Caring” is the theme that will be highlighted at the XIV Conferences of the Pediatrics Service of the Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Algarve (CHUA), taking place on the 29th and 30th of November at the Green Auditorium of the University of Algarve, in Gambelas Campus (Faro).

"With a highly diversified technical-scientific program and with the presence of renowned specialists in the pediatric field, this edition of the Pediatrics Service's conferences aims to provide a multidisciplinary approach to some of the main themes that mark the current situation in this specialty." explains the CHUA.

Giving special importance to the practical component, the organization included in the program, on the 29th, the course "ABCDE of the seriously ill child", very aimed at addressing critical situations and where participants will have the opportunity to test various approach techniques in the most various simulation scenarios presented in the training.

In addition to the more practical component, over the two days of conferences, there will be several topics discussed in the roundtables, such as: "The chronic patient in the outpatient clinic", "Pediatrics Day Hospital", "Multidisciplinarity in clinical practice", " Manchester Screening”, “False emergencies”, “Pain Control”, “Burns”, “Meningoencephalitis”. “Convulsions” or “Chest Pain”, among other topics.

The program also includes a space reserved for the presentation of free papers, as well as two conferences, one on “Pediatric Palliative Care” and the other on “Adolescence”.

Particularly aimed at pediatric specialists and interns, general and family medicine physicians, nurses, students and health professionals with special interest in pediatric activity, the event is also open to the participation of others interested in the topics under discussion.

This year's edition is organized by the Association of Friends of Pediatrics of the Hospital de Faro and has the scientific support of the University Hospital Center of the Algarve.
