This Wednesday, November 7th, the Polis Society demolished eight houses in the core of the Farohe will have to bring down another six tomorrow at the Hangares, both on Ilha da Culatra. Residents of these houses have filed injunctions, but this has not stopped the demolitions from proceeding, despite the injured parties' assurances that they have not been notified by the court of any final decision.

Opposite argument presented to Polis Ria Formosa, which guaranteed to have already received authorization to advance. Yesterday, the administrative possession of 14 houses had already been carried out, eight in the FaroThere were six in the Hangars, but there was still the expectation on the part of the owners of the houses that they would have been able to save more time.

But this morning, the houses marked the day before began to be demolished by machines, protected by the Maritime Police, who were there, as has always been the habit when Polis carries out operations of this nature on Culatra Island.

Although 14 injunctions were filed, two of them had different arguments than the others.

In 12 of the cases, the precautionary measures were accepted this Monday, but the Polis' quick response to the request for arguments made by the judge in charge of the process led to the houses being claimed, this Tuesday, and the machines have laid them down throughout the day.

In the other two cases, the argument presented was different and, according to the Sul Informação Feliciano Júlio, president of the Ilha do FaroXNUMX of Santa Maria, «had a suspensive character». Even so, they went down, despite "the owners and lawyers were not notified of anything", as the representatives of the Polis "assured they already had authorization"

Feliciano Júlio said he was "desolate to see more houses going down" and assured that, if the demolitions have progressed without a final decision by the Court, he is considering "advancing with a criminal process".

“In a situation like this, where precautionary measures are in progress, it would be expected that the Polis would be cautious and wait for the judge's final decision. But they decided to tear it down. Now, if tomorrow the court proves the owners right, the houses have already been demolished", he considered.

The association's hopes were more focused on these two measures, taking into account that they were the only ones in which it was consulted and that were advanced by lawyers who were already connected to the process. In the other cases, he considered, this outcome was "almost inevitable", considering that the argument now presented "was very fragile". The association that he directs had, moreover, no connection with these processes.

Tomorrow, the houses that on Monday were claimed by the Polis and marked for demolition, in Hangares, should also be taken down.

The owners of the houses that are being demolished had already been notified, in January, for the administrative takeover of the houses, but they managed to postpone it for several months, with injunctions presented at the time.
