Intermarché offers protection equipment to VRSA Firefighters

Over the years, Intermarché de VRSA stores, Monte Gordo and Altura have already donated 20 pieces of equipment to the municipality's firefighters

The Vila Real de Santo António Volunteer Fire Brigade received five pieces of forest protection equipment, donated by the county's Intermarché stores, as part of a partnership between the two entities.

The new equipment, "indispensable for the corporation", serves "to combat, prevent and protect the forest in possible emergency situations", according to the VRSA firefighters.

Since it was launched, the partnership between the corporation from Vila Real and Intermarché has already resulted in the donation of 20 pieces of equipment.

The VRSA Volunteer Firefighters publicly thanked the three participating Intermarché stores – Vila Real de Santo António, Monte Gordo and Altura –, namely to its owner Carlos Elego Gomes, considering that this type of partnership is «essential for the constant improvement of equipment, vehicles and corporations, thus increasing the operational capacity of response in emergency situations».
