Marta Temido, Minister of Health, will inaugurate this Saturday, December 1st, at 14:30 pm, the Golfinho Family Health Unit (USF), installed at the headquarters of the Health Center in Faro.
This new USF, part of the Central Health Centers Group (ACeS) of the Algarve Regional Health Administration, «brings together a multi-professional team, consisting of eight doctors, eight nurses and seven technical assistants and will cover a total of 15.200 users of the county of Faro, including the headquarters in Faro and the Estoi Complex, which will make it possible to extend assistance coverage with the attribution of a family doctor to an additional 5.469 users», says the Regional Health Administration (ARS) of the Algarve.
Opening hours are from 8:00 am to 20:00 pm at the headquarters, in Faro, and at the Estoi hub, from 8:00 am to 16:00 pm, every weekday, USF Golfinho will reinforce the provision of proximity healthcare, «providing all its users with a set of activities expressed in its action plan in the area. the provision of care and health promotion in the community, to ensure more accessibility, greater proximity and better quality of health care in the municipality of Faro, contributing to greater gains in health».
With the entry into operation of the USF Golfinho, 16 Family Health Units are currently operating in the Algarve (three in ACeS Barlavento, nine in ACeS Central and four in ACeS Sotavento). Of these, eight are in Model B and seven in Model A.
