The Alcoutim Council is going to finance, in 6 euros, the preventive forestry works, to reduce the risk of fires, which will be carried out by the Cumeadas Association in the municipality.
This funding was deliberated at a meeting of the Chamber of Alcoutim held this Wednesday, 28 November.
The support “will be invested in preventive forestry actions, to reduce the risk of fires, in accordance with the Municipal Plan for the Defense of Forest Against Fires”, explains the Alcoutim Chamber.
Cumeadas is headquartered in the village of Pereiro and has supported, since 2000, the Alcoutenejo forest producers. The association's main mission is to boost sustainable investment in Alcoutim, seeking to streamline development projects. Today, Cumeadas is also a partner in the defense of the forest and its resources and in the management and planning of the territory.
