The Odiana Association, together with the Municipality of Alcoutim, promotes on November 30th, in that village, the first edition of the Forum on Hiking and Nature Tourism.
The objective is to promote and boost hiking and Nature Tourism in the region, making known success stories and facilitating the knowledge of instruments for valuing these tourist products.
The initiative is open to the general public and takes place at Espaço Guadiana, in Alcoutim, with a diversified program that counts on actors of regional, national and international scale in the areas of walking & cycling, with the emphasis on active and responsible tourism.
The program has a luxury panel, starting with the Algarve Tourism Region, the QRER Cooperative, responsible for the «Algarve Walking Season» and the Biosphere Responsible Tourism.
Success stories such as the «Tenerife Walking Festival» and the «Itinerantur» will also be presented.
A hated will address the hiking product with the Pedestrian Routes Network and the Great Route of the Guadiana.
This Forum intends to contribute to the sustainable development of Nature Tourism in Baixo Guadiana, especially with regard to the interior of the territory, with strong potential and where there is already a set of actors operating.
The goal is to get to know and exchange experiences in order to create, improve and/or consolidate the offer, making the region more competitive and breaking seasonal cycles.
This event, together with the Walking Festival held annually by the Municipality of Alcoutim, and products such as the Pedestrian Routes Network and the Great Route of the Guadiana, developed by Odiana, «comes to demonstrate the growing importance of Nature Tourism in Baixo Guadiana, combining the natural potential for cultural and historical heritage, sport and well-being, as well as all business activities that explore sustainable tourism and the experiences that the visitor can have in it. other Algarve», stresses the association.
