Seminar in Albufeira outlines perspectives for financing projects in the Algarve after 2020

Seminar is promoted by CCDR Algarve and is part of the preparation of the Algarve for the decade that will follow the Portugal 2020 period

The seminar “Paths to Competitiveness and Smart Regional Specialization”, which will outline perspectives for the financing of projects in the Algarve after 2020, will be held on November 14, at the Salão Nobre of the Paços do Concelho de Albufeira, from from 14:30 pm.

In this event, organized by the Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR Algarve), «paths and perspectives for the implementation of the Algarve's Regional Strategy for Research and Innovation for Smart Specialization (RIS3) will be presented, as well as the presentation of the lines strategies that frame the funding opportunities of the next community framework, which will be addressed by representatives of the National Innovation Agency and the Development and Cohesion Agency».

According to Francisco Serra, president of CCDR Algarve, «this is a good opportunity for joint reflection on the work developed in the
implementation of the regional RIS3 and in promoting the competitiveness of the Algarve».

Participation in the seminar is free and subject to mandatory registration, limited to room capacity.

In the first panel entitled “More Competitive and Intelligent Algarve”, “case studies of projects developed, or under development, financed by various European Union funds (Operational Program CRESC Algarve 2020, Horizon 2020, Interreg, etc.) will be presented. by different regional and national partners, and that contribute to the pursuit of the objectives of RIS3 Algarve, namely in the fields of tourism, the sea, renewable energies, agri-food, health, Information Technologies and
Communication (TIC) and Cultural and Creative Industries (ICC)», explains CCDR Algarve.

This event is also part of the Algarve's preparation for the decade that will follow the Portugal 2020 period, «constituting a moment of concerted reflection with local authorities, the business fabric, regional agents and populations in general», concludes the organization.
