Castro Marim City Council modernized the Crèche and Kindergarten's dining room, with “more resistant, waterproof equipment that is easy to wash and disinfect”.
Thus, in addition to the requalification of the outer space of the Castro Marim Nursery and Kindergarten, the City Council also invested in the acquisition of new furniture for the space's dining room.
«In relation to the outdoor space, the works are proceeding at a good pace, which will give rise to a multifunctional place and which responds to the development needs of the different age groups of the Nursery and Kindergarten», says the municipality.
“Five distinct areas are planned: the central space, with children's equipment, a lawn, an area of educational gardens, the yard and the outdoor technical area”.
Work will also be carried out in the scope of drainage of waste water and the rainwater network. This is an investment of around 165 thousand euros, co-funded by CRESC Algarve 2020, supported by Portugal and the European Union, with a co-financing rate of 50% by the FEDER.
According to the Chamber of Castro Marim, "these are investments that aim to improve better hygiene and sanitary conditions", "as well as adapting the space to current pedagogical requirements, bringing the contents taught in the classroom to dining and recreational spaces , providing other motor skills and knowledge of the environment».
In a press release, the autarchy also leaves a public thanks to the Agrupamento de Escolas and to the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Castro Marim, who, over the years, have provided the Nursery and Pre-School in Castro Marim, in a building and space that the Municipality seeks to modernize and improve».
