The FormAlgarve program, which aims to improve the competitiveness and productivity of the sectors most affected by seasonality in the Algarve region», has applications open until 31 December. Support is aimed at employers that sign contracts of at least 12 months with their workers who terminate their contracts between 1 September and 31 December.
The program provides two types of support. From the outset, upon hiring, «in the amount of nine times the value of the Social Support Index (IAS), which in 2018 is 428,90 euros, for each conversion of the fixed-term or uncertain-term employment contract into a contract without term".
«On the other hand, for each fixed-term contract renewal, the support is three times the value of the IAS. This support is increased by 10% if the employer is a company with less than 10 workers», according to the Employment and Professional Training Institute (IEFP).
There is also support for professional training, in the amount of 75 euros, for every 25 hours, reaching a limit of 300 euros per worker with a level of qualification equal to or higher than level 4 of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
«This limit value can be of 1200 euros per supported worker, if he has a qualification level equal to or less than level 3 of the NQF, and if there is a conversion of the fixed-term or uncertain employment contract into an open-ended contract. Finally, this support can reach up to 900 euros per worker with a level of qualification equal to or less than level 3 of the NQF, in the event of a fixed-term employment contract renewal», added the same entity.
To access this support, training entities will have to guarantee professional training with a minimum duration of 50 hours for workers with a level of qualification equal to or higher than level 4 of the QNQ.
As for employees with level 3 or lower, employers will have to guarantee «professional training complementary to the process of Professional Recognition, Validation and Certification of Competences (RVCC), with a view to obtaining a qualification for the exercise of the profession, both in this case. conversion, as in the case of renewal of the employment contract, which may have a variable duration as a result of the diagnosis carried out within the scope of the intervention of the Qualifica Centre'.
"In cases where workers with a level of qualification equal to or less than level 3 of the NQF do not meet the conditions for referral to the professional RVCC process, they must attend training with a minimum workload of 250 hours, as provided for in the regulation and within the scope of the routes training courses included in the public training offer,” added the IEFP.
