Portimão: Jardim 1º de Dezembro already has free wifi

Wi-fi antennas allow residents and tourists to access the “digital world” for free

The free wireless internet access network in Jardim 1º de Dezembro, in Portimão, is already fully operational. This measure "allows residents and tourists to enjoy this leisure space and simultaneously access the "digital world" via wifi", explains the City Council of Portimão.

The two antennas installed are part of Portimão Free Wifi, a project by the municipality that «aimed at promoting free Internet access in public spaces in the municipality».

Portimão Town Council recalls that «Jardim 1º de Dezembro is open to the public despite the ongoing restoration work on the tiles that are one of the hallmarks of this historic green space».

In this regard, the local authority recalls, «under the October – “Mês do Azulejo” initiative, anyone who wants can participate in programmed activities and discover the cultural importance of the use of tiles in Portugal, through guided visits to Jardim 1º de Dezembro, where they will talk about “Conservation and Restoration Intervention” on the 17th, 24th and 31st, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
