The army chief of staff, General Rovisco Duarte, resigned this Wednesday, citing "personal reasons".

“The President of the Republic today received a letter from General Francisco José Rovisco Duarte, who, invoking personal reasons, asked for the resignation of the position of Chief of Staff of the Army”, reveals the Presidency of the Republic in a statement.
