Blizzards from other times speed up the track at the Autódromo do Algarve

On the Portimão circuit, these days, the thrill of speed is relived with older cars

The “Algarve Classic Festival” (ACF), which is already the biggest event for classic cars in Southern Europe, is back at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve this weekend. Today, Sunday, the 21st, there are still races planned, even because the rainy weather gave some respite.

In all, since Friday, the Portimão circuit has been invaded by 300 teams and 500 drivers from all over the world. Over these three days, there is a lot of adrenaline, a lot of noise from powerful engines, with races full of emotion, which are not lacking some crashes and accidents and even breakdowns, plotting the drivers' pretensions.

There are several modalities of the international “Historic Racing”: the Algarve Sports-Cars Pre-75, the Formula 1 until 1966, the U2TC for touring until 1966, the GT & Sports Cars Cup championship for Grande Turismo prior to 1965, the HTCC for Group A Tours until 1990, the Motor Racing Legends for Sports Cars Pre-65, the PRE 63' GT, for GTS from 1958 to 1963, and the Iberian Historic Endurance.
