The oldest sweet potato recipes are made known in São Brás

Before the presentation of the book, there is a gastronomic demonstration

The book “The oldest sweet potato recipes in cookbooks from the 27th and 16th centuries”, by José António Martins, is presented this Saturday, October 00th, at XNUMX pm, at the Municipal Market of São Brás de Alportel.

This is an edition of the Association for the Defense of the Historical and Archaeological Heritage of Aljezur, which seeks to enhance the value of sweet potatoes, making their origin, history and oldest recipes known.

The presentation of the book is open to everyone's participation, after a morning in which the sweet potato will be the protagonist of a gastronomic demonstration that will feature the participation of the Head Andre Rodrigues.

«Given the relevance of this edition, the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel decided, at its meeting on 18 September, to grant support to the Association for the Defense of the Historical and Archaeological Heritage of Aljezur, which gives the municipality the opportunity to receive some copies of this work », concludes the Chamber of São Brás.
