The programming of Quinta do Peral de São Brás de Alportel is now part of the national project “Estrelas e Ouriços”, which brings together initiatives aimed at families.
This project was born in 2007 on the initiative of two mothers, "who felt the need for a platform that would gather different playful-didactic proposals for children and families, in order to help schedule weekends and vacations in a more practical way." , according to the Chamber of São Brás de Alportel.
In addition to an online platform, which has already surpassed two thousand contents, “Estrelas e Hedgehogs” also has a script that has reached its 100th edition, a Facebook page, presence on Instagram, an app and newsletters aimed at families and the schools.
This nationwide project also won the “Five Star Service 2017” award in the “Family Activities Guide” category, «having been involved in specific projects to help families and children, which for various reasons, are in a fragile situation'.
For the São Brasense municipality, the inclusion of its Education and Interpretation and Environmental Education Center in “Estrelas e Ouriços” «is a reason for pride, as recognition of the work of merit that has been carried out over a decade» .
