First edition of the Race between Pontes de Tavira will have Ana Dias as godmother

For each registration, one euro will be donated to the Integrated Child Support Center – A Gaivota

The first Race between Bridges, in Tavira, is scheduled for the 23rd of September and will have the Algarve athlete Ana Dias, who participated in four editions of the Olympic Games, as godmother.

This race, promoted by Tugas On Tour – Associação Desportiva, a club headquartered in Tavira, will have a solidary nature, since one euro of each entry goes to the “Integrated Child Support Center – A Gaivota”. The amount raised will be to purchase equipment necessary for the association.

In this competition, federated, non-federated and foreign athletes of both sexes can participate.

The race will feature youth, senior, veteran I, II, III, IV and V classes and each team can enter an unlimited number of athletes.

The race, which takes place between the Ponte S. Domingos da Asseca and the Ponte Romana, comprises a round trip circuit, on asphalt, with a total distance of 10 kilometres.

The start will be at Largo da Praça da República (next to Tavira Town Hall) and the race will pass at Rua dos Pelames, Rua Chefe António Afonso, EN 514-2, Ponte S. Domingos da Assêca, EN 397, Rua João Vaz Corte Real, Rua 5 de Outubro, Ponte Romana, and ends at Praça da República.

For athletes not affiliated with the Algarve Athletics Association, the organization provides the respective dorsals in the Dr. Eduardo Mansinho Municipal pavilion, the day before the race, between 14:00 and 18:00 and, on the day of the race, between 8:30 and 9:30 am, at the secretariat, next to departure.

The Race between Bridges has the support of the Municipality of Tavira, the Union of Parishes of Santa Maria and Santiago, the Committee of Judges and Timekeepers of the Algarve Athletics Association.
