The Frutos Secos Museum Center, located near Largo de São Francisco, in Loulé, is closed for maintenance until the 14th of September.

Integrated in the Museological Network of the municipality of Loulé, «this space is the testimony of an activity that played an important social, economic, technological and cultural role, especially in the rural parish of S. Sebastião: cultivation and processing of dried fruits», says the Town hall.

The small factory for the production and sale of dried fruits, deactivated in the 90s of the 1998th century, was adapted by the Municipality of Loulé for museological purposes and had its official opening in December XNUMX.

In the museum space there is an almond splitting machine and a carob crushing machine that, together with other objects and materials, allow visitors to have direct contact with traditional processes and a better understanding and knowledge of this socioeconomic activity.
