Snacks and Music at the 10th Festival do Chiga in Santa Clara-a-Velha

The festival is intended to promote the region, making known its most genuine products, especially the largemouth bass, a very abundant species in the Santa Clara Dam

Gastronomy, handicrafts, children's entertainment and musical performances make up the menu of the 10th Festival do Achigã, which takes place next weekend, on 15 and 16 September, in the village of Santa Clara-a-Velha, in the interior of the municipality of Odemira .

The objective of the Festival is to promote the region, making known the most genuine products of the region, especially the largemouth bass, a very abundant species in the Santa Clara Dam.

Visitors will have the opportunity to taste this fish as a main ingredient, as well as other snacks. The Festival venue, in the Parish Council Pavilion, opens at 12 noon.

The initiative is the responsibility of the “Os Amigos de Santa Clara” Association, with support from the Municipality of Odemira, the Parish Councils of Santa Clara-a-Velha and Luzianes-Gare, GNR and the local population.

For the 15th of September, concertinas da Sertã (13:00 pm and 17:30 pm), Morcegos do Mira (15:00 pm), Os Amigos da Figuira (16:00 pm), Relíquias D'Outrora (20:00 pm) and Memanus artists (24:00 am) ). The night will also be animated with a ball by Rui Soares & Lau.

The groups Relíquias D'Outrora (16:13), Gentes do Alto Mira (00:14), Brasa Doirada (30:14) and Sol do Torrão are scheduled to perform on Sunday, September 30th.

The Festival do Achigã ends with the performance of Tiago Neto & Paulo Fragoso (19:30).
