The fire that raged since the beginning of the afternoon in Carrascalinho, in Rogil, in the municipality of Aljezur, has already been dominated. The flames consumed weeds and pine trees, but caused no damage to houses, despite this being an area with some scattered housing.
Second revealed to Sul Informação Abel Gomes, the 2nd Operational Commander of the District Relief Operations Command (CDOS) of Faro, the flames walked close to some houses, but “the means were positioned to avoid being hit”.
The flames plowed in a land between the Industrial Zone of Feiteira and Rogil. According to Abel Gomes, the fact that the fields “are plowed and cleaned helped”. On the other hand, «the strong wind made it difficult for us to act».

For now, the means of fighting the fire will remain in place, bearing in mind that “the fact that the fire is under control does not mean that it is already out”.
At around 17:30 pm today, 239 operational personnel were still affected by this occurrence, supported by 73 vehicles and five aerial means.
