Portugal made a 'globally positive' performance and the draw against Croatia (1-1), this Thursday, 6 September, is not "fair", in the opinion of Fernando Santos, national football coach.

After the end of the match, in which Portugal scored through Pepe, the coach went to the press room at Estádio Algarve and analyzed the preparatory match against the world runner-up.

“We played a very positive game in the first half. We played with depth, speed, creating interior spaces. Until close to 15 minutes we were very well», he said.

Croatia had "a lot of difficulty" in that initial period, but with Perisic's goal, they grew in the game and there was a moment when the Portuguese team "shaked". "For 10 minutes we had difficulty, but Portugal quickly returned to the game and reached the goal", he considered.

The second half was also positive, in the opinion of Fernando Santos, although «more monotonous, with the exception of the last 15 minutes in which we re-imposed our rhythm», he said.

Overall, "it was a very positive game," he summed up.

The selection of the corners has another meeting scheduled for this Monday, September 10, against Italy, counting for the League of Nations, at Estádio da Luz.
