The presentation of the commercial wharf reconversion project of Faro will be one of the highlights of the commemorations of the Day of the Municipality of Faro, which is marked this Friday, 7th of September. Ana Paula Vitorino, Minister of the Sea, will be present at this moment.
The presentation is scheduled for 11:00 am, at Cais Comercial, where the official ceremonies of the Municipality Day will be centered.
The program starts at 9:00 am, with a stopover at the Firefighters Sapadores graduation, and at 9:05 am, there will be the hoisting of flags.
This will be followed, at 9:10 am, by the Solemn Session, with the intervention of the President of the Municipal Assembly of Faro, with the delivery of the Municipal Architecture and Landscape Architecture Award, with the attribution of medals for good service and dedication to municipal employees, with the attribution of honorary distinctions from the Municipality to distinguished citizens and with the intervention of Rogério Bacalhau, Mayor.
At 11:00 am, the project will be presented to the Commercial Quay of Faro and, from 11:30 am, the protocol between the Chamber of Faro and Docapesca for the transfer of territorial management between the Doca de Faro and Largo de S. Francisco.
Teresa Coelho, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Docapesca and Ana Paula Vitorino, Minister of the Sea, will also speak at this time.
In the afternoon, at 14:30 pm, the group exhibition “ELA”, by the Lídia de Almeida Academy of Arts, will be inaugurated at the Municipal Museum of Faro. An hour later, a new Firefighters Volunteer vehicle will be christened at the barracks.
The unveiling of the toponymic plaque “Maria Amélia Campos Coroa”, in Montenegro, is scheduled for 16:00 pm, and at 17:45 pm, in the Housing District of Rua Monsenhor Henrique Ferreira da Silva, next to Avenida Cidade Hayward, the plaque will be unveiled in honor of the “ President Negrão Belo”.
The delivery of the prizes of the Regatta “Day of the City of Faro”, at 17:45 pm, marks the return to the Commercial Quay of Faro.
At 18:15 pm, the sculpture and painting exhibition “Deambulações”, by Henrique Dentinho, opens at the IPDJ.
The commemorations of the Day of the Municipality of Faro end with music, at 19 pm, with a concert by the Academic Symphonic Orchestra, at Teatro das Figuras, and at 00:21 pm, with the show Aquatropy, in the Manuel Bivar Garden.
