University of Algarve went to Morocco to intensify bilateral relations

Entourage visited universities in Rabat and Settat

A delegation from the University of the Algarve visited Morocco last week "with the objective of intensifying the strengthening of bilateral relations" with that country.

The delegation, led by João Guerreiro, former rector of UAlg, visited, in Rabat, the Mohammed V University, the International University and the Hassan II Agronomic and Veterinary Institute, and, in Settat, the Hassan I University.

According to the University of Algarve, «this visit aimed to strengthen cooperation in two main areas: the consolidation of joint advanced training programs and the structuring of projects aimed at transferring knowledge and entrepreneurship».

The visit also served to «deep knowledge about the main challenges of Moroccan universities, both in terms of training and in terms of valuing knowledge and transferring technology to industry, proposing actions to respond to the challenges presented».

In addition to João Guerreiro, representatives of CRIA – Division of Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer, the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies participated in the visit to Morocco.
