Health professionals from ACeS Barlavento provide support to Monchique

Health teams are supporting populations that have been affected and displaced.

A total of 16 people were assisted, between 18 pm yesterday, the 00th, and 6:7 am today, at the Monchique Health Centre, said the Algarve Regional Health Administration (ARS) today.

In this Health Centre, there is a team of nursing professionals from ACeS Barlavento, who are supporting INEM in assisting field workers and the population. There has been, "so far, no need for any evacuation to another health facility," stresses the ARS.

A team of five nurses and a doctor from ACeS Barlavento was also deployed to the Arena de Portimão, to provide support to the 120 people who stayed there, while the team remained in place.

In the Emergency Department of the University Hospital Center of the Algarve (CHUA), 6 people were assisted between the 7th and the morning of August 15th (fourteen in the Portimão unit and one in the Faro), all with minor injuries. All have been discharged from the clinic.

ARS Algarve also made available a team of health professionals from the Monchique Health Center to assist, in case of need, people who are at the EB 2,3 School in Monchique.

That entity also alerts the population to avoid smoke inhalation, as well as exposure to heat. For more information call SNS24: 808 24 24 24. In case of emergency call 112,
