Participatory Budget of the Parish Union of Faro receives proposals until 28th of September

The maximum value per project is 15.000 euros and projects may be selected until the total allocation of 60.000 euros is exhausted

The Parish Union of Faro (Sé and São Pedro) have already launched the second edition of the Participatory Budget, “an instrument of civic participation through which citizens can present investment proposals to be implemented by the Parish Council”.

This Participatory Budget intends to be "an important instrument for citizens' involvement in the governance dynamics of the parish, contributing to the strengthening of the quality of democracy, to the increase in the transparency of processes and to the economic, political, social and cultural empowerment of citizens, promoting their civic participation and their decision-making capacity on Parish matters».

The first phase of the OP 2018 will take place between August 16th and September 28th and will serve for the dissemination and presentation of proposals.

The maximum amount per project is 15.000 euros and projects may be selected until the total allocation of 60.000 euros, provided for in the annual budget, is exhausted.

Interested parties can deliver their projects at the headquarters of the União das Freguesias (Rua Reitor Teixeira Guedes, 2 – 8004-026 Faro), by email to [email protected] or by letter addressed to the OP 2018 Monitoring Committee.

The selection of projects that will be voted on will be made by the OP 2018 Monitoring Committee, composed of three members of the executive and one member of each party with a seat in the Parish Assembly.

The voting period by the citizens will take place between the 5th and the 30th of November, after having observed a period for complaints by the proponents against the provisional list of projects (between the 3rd and 29th of October).
