Arte Doce Fair and Al-Buhera Festival were successful in Lagos and Albufeira

The two events, with different characteristics, brought animation to the Algarve in the last days of July

The 31st edition of the Arte Doce Contest Fair, which took place on the last weekend of July at the Municipal Sports Complex of Lagos, brought more than 20 000 visitors to the Algarve's oldest event of its kind. For its part, the Al'Buhera Festival once again animates the Praça dos Pescadores, in Albufeira, with an exhibition of handicrafts, regional sweets and concerts for all tastes.

From the 25th to the 29th of August, Albufeira's downtown hosted 54 stalls and stands with the most varied items, from
jewelry, food products, ceramics, handicrafts, regional cakes and many other suggestions made by hand by regional artisans.

At night, a total of ten bands took the stage, highlighting the headliners, GNR, Jimmy P, The Gift, Expensive Soul and Sara Tavares, preceded by Banda Alhada, Elida Almeida, Cais do Sodré Funk Connection, Bamba Social & Tiago Nacarato and Fogo-fire. The festival was also animated by the Fanfarra “Al-Fanfare”, from Loulé, and by the Percussion Orchestra “Percutunes”, from the parish of Tunes (Silves).

«Lagos and the Sea – Land of Discoveries» was the theme chosen for this year's edition of the Arte Doce Contest Fair and, «as expected, works of great aesthetic and creative sensibility competed».

The theme was also the theme for the animation that took place over the three days of the event. There were about 70 exhibitors, with an emphasis on the sweets that, as it should be, was the big star of the event.

But there was also an exhibition and sale of a lot of handicrafts, other food products, and the presence of different local companies and entities.

Arte Doce invested both in Workshops and in complementary programming, with the presence of local companies (namely with the presence of hotels and local wine and liquor producers), as well as in the entertainment that took place in the fair space and in the streets of the center historic city of Lagos.
