FARCUME presents “shorts” from 53 countries in Os Artististas

Festival set record for entries this year

O Farcume – Short Film Festival of Faro will return to the Algarve capital between 20 and 25 August at the Sociedade Recreativa Artística Farense (SRAF). This is the 8th edition of the event, which is «one of the biggest film festivals in the south of the Tagus», according to Faro 1540, which organizes the festival.

This year, according to the organization, there was "a huge influx of entries, the largest ever, reaching almost 3000 works (a total of 2872) from 107 countries and equivalent to 472 hours."

As a mere curiosity, says the Faro 1540, «if all the shorts had been selected we would have almost 20 days of festival non-stop (24 hours a day)".

The selection "was judicious and moviegoers who visit the Artists will have the possibility of viewing around 280 short films from 53 countries and divided into four categories: Animation, Documentary, Fiction and Videoclip", says the Faro 1540.

Of these films, «many of them have already been awarded at renowned international festivals, while others are absolute premieres».

The sessions take place every day, at 21 pm, and will take place either outdoors or in the society's main hall. Admission is free.
