Algarvio Diogo Marreiros has already won four medals at the European Skating Championship

Athletes from GD Lagoa were also European runners-up

The Algarve skater Diogo Marreiros won four medals, three silver and one bronze, in the European Skating Championship, which is taking place in Oostende, Belgium.

The lacobrigense was crowned, on Friday, European vice-champion of the 10000m points/elimination. On Saturday, he was third in the 15000m Elimination event and, this Sunday, on his own, the Algarve skater was runner-up in the 1000m Sprint and, as a team, in the relay race, with David Pedro and Miguel Bravo, both from GD Lagoa also won a silver medal.

Throughout its history, Portugal won nine medals in this modality, eight of them with the participation of Diogo Marreiros.

The European Skating Championship continues this Tuesday, now with road events.
