The Parish Union (UF) of Faro launched a free solidarity transport service, aimed at customers in a weaker situation.

The “Transporte Solidário” project consists of “organized and free transport within the municipality of Faro, from people in situations of vulnerability, to health services, social services, finance services, among others», according to the União de Freguesias Farense. It will be open every working day from 9:00 am to 17:00 pm.

Those interested in accessing the service must register with União das Freguesias de Faro, where they will also be able to access the regulation.

Entries will be subsequently analyzed and validated by the services of the Union of Parishes of Faro "taking into account economic deprivation, social isolation, the absence of a family support network, the age of the users, the physical or psychological health conditions, the proximity of their homes to public transport and respective schedules".

According to Bruno Lage, the president of the UF of Faro, the creation of this service “was based on the diagnosis of the population's needs with regard to the difficulty of access by some citizens to a set of services”.
