Tavira: There's “Jazz at the Palace” from the Gallery

João Barradas, Carmen Souza and João Paulo Esteves da Silva Trio are the guest artists.

The initiative “O Jazz no Palácio” takes place from the 19th to the 21st of July, always at 22 pm, in the courtyard of the Palácio da Galeria (Tavira) and is attended by João Barradas (00th), Carmen Souza (19th) and João Paulo Esteves da Silva Trio (day 20).

João Barradas is one of the most respected and recognized European accordionists, moving between classical music, jazz and improvised music.

It has won some of the most prestigious international competitions, including the World Accordion Trophy, the Coupe Mondale de Accordion, the Castelfidardo International Competition and the Okud Istra International Competition.

In 2016, he recorded his first album with the New York publisher Inner Circle Music, having collaborated with several renowned musicians.

Now he will perform, in Tavira, with “Home”, which includes Mané Fernandes (guitar), Eduardo Cardinho (vibrophone), Gonçalo Neto (guitar), Ricardo Marques (double bass) and Guilherme Melo (drums).

Carmen Souza has been asserting herself as one of the most disturbing and vibrant symbols of Lusophony.

Afro-Cuban music, jazz, morna and a set of references from different rhythmic fusions mark the artist's authorial profile to which bassist Theo Pascal has contributed over the last decade.

Your new album “… 'Epistle' represents a sound card”.

João Paulo Esteves da Silva Trio consists of JP Esteves da Silva (piano), Mário Franco (double bass) and Samuel Rohrer (drums). Together they guarantee the success of the most classic jazz format.

Tickets cost 5 euros and are on sale at the Paços do Concelho reception and at the City Council's information stand in Praça da República.
