The national fight against skin cancer will reach São Brás de Alportel. The São Brasense Chamber is once again associated with the national campaign for the prevention of skin cancer and will place posters in public spaces with the highest affluence in the municipality.

The campaign entitled, “Sol e Pele – Knowing how to live together”, will also be advertised by the City Council of São Brás de Alportel on social networks and on the municipality's website, as well as on the monthly schedule “São Brás Happens”.

This initiative advises the population "to prevent cancerous skin problems and to carry out regular self-examination for changes in signs or blemishes on the skin."

«The use of sunglasses, sunscreen, hat and light clothing, protection with the use of shade and not excessive sun exposure at times of greatest risk to health, are fundamental attitudes to take into account for the protection of the skin and the prevention of skin cancer, the most common in Portugal», highlighted the City Council of São Brás de Alportel.

If “any change or the appearance of any sign or stain is detected, it is advisable to consult a dermatologist”.

The “Sol e Skin – Knowing how to live” campaign is promoted by the Portuguese Association of Skin Cancer (APCC), in collaboration with the Portuguese Society of Dermatology and Venereology.
