Are you a sweet tooth? So the 16th Mostra do Doce Conventual de Lagoa, starting on the 18th of July, at the Convento de São José, is really for you.
Jams, jams, honey, cakes that recreate the use of dried fruits such as almonds, figs, carob, but that shine with the presence of eggs and sugar, they can be tasted and approved, as well as accompanied by liqueurs or medronho brandy.
«Everything will take place in a conventual environment, faithfully recreated, so that those with a sweet tooth can close their eyes, without a shadow of sin», says the Câmara de Lagoa.
The Convent of São José, formerly intended for the gathering of abandoned women and children who received their education here under the guidance of the nuns of the Ordem das Carmelitas, will once again serve as a stage for the 16th edition of the sweetest event in Lagoa.
