Two tons of garbage collected in the Ria Formosa

Citizenship action was attended by 70 people

Two tons of garbage were collected this Thursday morning, July 26, in the Ria Formosa. 

This action, organized by users of pleasure boats that usually dock on Culatra Island, was attended by 70 people.

The garbage collected in Culatra was mostly plastic and derivatives, found on the banks and lagoon area of ​​the Ria Formosa Natural Park.

The Maritime Authority supported the event through a vessel from the Olhão Lifeguard Station and the Maritime Police (PM), as well as a PM watercraft.

There was also support from a private cargo transport vessel, which transported garbage from the island to land.
