Cortelha serves Serranos Manjares to the sound of Folklore

In addition to traditional dishes from the mountain cuisine, folklore groups from various parts of the country will also visit Cortelha

The village of Cortelha, in the interior of the municipality of Loulé, will serve “Manjares Serranos” again on the 4th and 5th of August. Corn porridge, rooster with grain, stewed wild boar, pig's ear, chorizo ​​sausage and medronho brandy are some of the many delicacies that will be served at this event, which will take place at the local multi-sport pavilion.

In addition to traditional dishes from the Serra do Caldeirão gastronomy, which can be found in the “Taberna dos Manjares” which will be installed in the Cortelha sports centre, folklore also occupies a central place in this event.

The Folklore Festival of Serra do Caldeirão, which is part of the program of the gastronomic show “Manjares Serranos”, takes place on Saturday, 4th of August, and will show the dances and songs of Alto Minho, with the Folklore Group of Terras from Nóbrega, from Ribatejo, with the Golegã Folklore Group, from Setúbal, with the Praias do Sado Folklore Group, and the customs and customs of the Algarve interior, with the host group, the Serra do Caldeirão Ethnographic Group.

At the end of Saturday night, there will be a ball, animated by the group Sons do Sul.

On Sunday, the 5th, the band Moces Marafados will make "a retrospective of Portuguese popular music" and present on stage "the sounds of different regions of the country", according to the association of Amigos da Cortelha, which organizes the event. The night ends again with a dance from the mountains, this time animated by the accordionist Valter Cabrita.
