Walk in the moonlight, between a total eclipse and the discovery of archeology

Walking was done between sunset, total eclipse and a luminous full moon

Between Quinta do Lago and Ludo, nearly 80 people heard archaeologists Catarina Viegas, Rui de Almeida and Alexandra Pires, who, on an unusually dark moonlit night, due to the total eclipse of the Moon, spoke of the old factory in salga and lagar, both Roman, whose ruins now lie between the estuary and the golf course.

The Walk to the Moon, a different way of marking the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, took place last Friday, July 27, as part of the archeology exhibition “Loulé: Territories. Memoirs. Identities”, which is on display for these days and until the end of the year at the Museu Nacional de Arqueologia, in Lisbon.

The walk, on a cool and windy night, was organized by the Municipal Museum of Loulé and had the collaboration of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and UNIARQ.
