The first elections and subsequent swearing-in of the governing bodies of ASPFA - Socio-Professional Association of Farorows took place on June 30, at the Clube do Sargento da Armada, in Lisbon.

The elections, which had a lot of support from the partners, gave as the winner the only list that proposed to suffrage.

Following the inauguration, there was the appointment of the Regional Delegates and the speech of the new president of the National Board of ASPFA.

In his speech, Jorge Estêvão presented the socio-professional and cultural objectives of this directorate now elected, as well as some points to which the new directorate will pay more attention were mentioned.

These are issues that, according to the association, «have caused a lot of discomfort and even difficulties, over the last decades, in the daily lives of all these militarized Navy personnel, who, serving fully in the National Maritime Authority, they see themselves relegated to the background in matters related to the allocation of compensatory funds (fees), excessive workload and reduction of staff at all the lights».

There are still several other "longstanding issues to be resolved with the guardianship, such as the subsidy for the status of being militarized, personnel detachments, or the issue of pensioners".

"These are just a few examples of the problems that this profession has been subject to, without the tutelage giving any kind of answer or showing an interest in trying to solve them", stresses the ASPFA – Associação Sócio-Professional dos Farorows.
