A session on the Participatory Budget for Young Portugal will be held next Monday, July 2, at 18 pm, at Largo do Pavilhão Gimnodesportivo, in Portimão.

The initiative of the Algarve Regional Directorate of the Sports and Youth Institute consists of a process of democratic participation in which young citizens present and vote on public investment projects.

Proposals can be submitted until the 29th of July, by nationals and foreign citizens legally residing in Portugal, aged between 14 and 30 years old, inclusive, and be included in the following thematic areas: inclusive sport, intergenerational dialogue , cultural innovation and environmental sustainability.

Proposals can be submitted up to a maximum amount of 100 thousand euros per project, which benefit more than one municipality throughout the national territory and are technically feasible, that is, they do not constitute requests for support or provision of services and do not involve the construction of infrastructure and do not contradict planned or ongoing public policies.

In the previous edition, more than 400 proposals were presented, which were voted on by almost 10 thousand young citizens.
