The ferry, which connects Funchal and Portimão, has its first trip scheduled for the 2nd of July and tickets have been on sale since this Tuesday, the 12th of June.

One-way fares vary between 29,10 euros for residents of the island of Madeira and 85 euros for non-residents. There is also the possibility of traveling in a double or quad cabin. Car transport costs 125 euros (one way).

The Volcan de Tijarafe, chartered to Naviera Armas by the Empresa de Navegação Madeirense, which will operate the connection, will make the trip between Funchal and Portimão in 24 hours. On the first voyage, the ship will leave Funchal at 10:30 am on the 2nd, arrive in Portimão at 10:30 am on the 3rd, and return to Madeira at 12:30 pm.

Although the first trip between Funchal and Portimão is scheduled for the 2nd of July, the Volcan de Tirajafe leaves the day before, at 20:00, from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, towards Madeira, and the return journey only ends, at July 5th when you dock in Las Palmas.

The boat has the capacity to transport 1000 passengers and 300 cars.

The trips are repeated every week at the same time and on the same days of the week, until the 20th of September.
