The show “Desembosnar”, which explores the old disagreements between Santa Clara-a-Velha and Sabóia, takes place on June 22, at 21 pm, at Cineteatro Camacho Costa, in Odemira.

On stage, a documentary and fictional look at an old dispute between Santa Clara-a-Velha and Sabóia will be presented.

The work team was made up of people from Santa Clara-a-Velha, mainly from the Alto Mira Ethnographic group, aged between 58 and 85 years.

This is the group that began to develop an accomplice relationship of creative partnership. In this show “Desembosnar”, the proposal involves bringing together a common memory between the two villages of Santa Clara-a-Velha and Sabóia.

Its manifestation was present, for example, in the most lively rivalries “in the time of football” and in the names created: “monkeys” for Saboianos and “bats” for Santa Clara. The testimonies and impressions are from a time without a certain calendar and from a memory that no longer belongs to whoever tells it.

In this staging, the Zut association, responsible for the project, will continue to «investigate memory processes and their metaphorical flow, through affective imagination».

«From these points, and together with the inhabitants of Santa Clara-a-Velha, we build a dramatized perspective with space for fictional extrapolations».

“Desembosnar”, which is a term used in the fields of that region to say growth, is a creation project that is integrated in an ongoing project of the Zut association in the development of the interior of Alentejo through the dynamization in the area of the performing parts.

It follows on from Advirto, a show premiered in May 2017 at the Cineteatro de Odemira, in which the focus was on individual memories through the exposure of frailties and strengths in a natural and spontaneous register.
