«This is also an exhibition absolutely coherent with the lines of force of the European Year of Cultural Heritage (AEPC), which takes place in 2018 under the motto “Heritage: where the past meets the future”. A reflection of the high participation of civil society, Portugal is one of the three countries with the most initiatives registered in the official program (along with Germany and Ireland), as highlighted yesterday by the European Commissioner for Education and Culture, Tibor Navracsics, at the session of opening of the European Cultural Heritage Summit, which will take place in Berlin until 24 June», stresses the Directorate General for Cultural Heritage, in a press release.

«In this regard, and as was publicly mentioned yesterday at the Museum of Popular Art, in the formal act of launching the series of stamps allusive to the commemorations, by the National Coordinator of the AEPC, Guilherme d'Oliveira Martins, according to official European sources, Portugal is the country with the most initiatives registered in the official program. Unequivocal proof of the total adhesion of Portuguese institutions and bodies, and their teams, from the Central, Regional and Local Administration, not only public but also private, and in the associative world”, explains, for its part, the Câmara de Loulé.
