São Brás de Alportel will receive on the Dia da Espiga, 10 May, a get-together tour between 17:00 and 19:00, guided by the architect José Brito. The initiative aims to recall the importance and meaning of this pagan/religious manifestation from the agrarian landscapes of the barrocal.

The initiative takes place within the scope of the cycle “Walks and Landscapes of the Mediterranean Diet”, an initiative of the Europe Direct Algarve Center and the Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR Algarve), with the support of the Association of Friends of the Museum of S.Brás , in the context of the programming of the European Year of Cultural Heritage (AEPC'2018).

Participation is free and free but subject to mandatory registration on the CCDR website, until 7 May.

The starting and returning point is the Ethnographic Museum of S. Brás de Alportel and the tour includes a visit to the Historic Center and the symbolic collection of the branch of the cob. At the end, participants are invited to a Mediterranean snack, «to spice up the spirit of the
user-friendliness”, adds CCDR Algarve.

The tour will be conducted in Portuguese, but there will be written information in several languages, with attention to resident foreign communities.
