A fire that broke out today, in the early afternoon, at 13:33 pm, in the municipality of Monchique, is being fought by 130 operational personnel and four air vehicles, including an amphibious plane.

Source of the District Relief Operations Command told the Sul Informação that the flames are consuming bush in the Ribeira das Canas area, close to the “border” with the municipality of Portimão. The strong wind is being one of the main “enemies” in fighting the flames.

The 130 operational are being supported by 41 vehicles. Our newspaper found that a command post will be installed in Porto de Lagos, in the municipality of Portimão.
