The Climate Change Adaptation Strategy for the municipality of Lagos is presented on the 25th of May, from 9:45 am, in a seminar to be held at the Auditorium of Paços do Concelho Século XXI.

What changes are likely to occur in Lagos' climate by the end of this century? What vulnerabilities does the county have to the current climate and what challenges do the projected climate change scenarios pose? What implications might climate change have for the environment, economy and population of Lagos?

These are questions that served as a motto for the development of this strategy. To answer these questions, the Municipality has developed, over the last year, the Municipal Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change in Lagos.

In this final seminar on the subject, the main conclusions of the plan will be presented, as well as the Climate Change Adaptation Strategy of the municipality of Lagos and the main actions in this regard that the Municipality proposes to implement in the near future.

The initiative will also include the moment of signing the Letter of Commitment of the Adapt.Local Network – Network of Municipalities for Local Adaptation to Climate Change.

Lagos joined this network in November 2017, within the scope of the ClimAdaPT.Local project, promoted by the Portuguese Environment Agency, which includes about 30 municipalities and which aims to increase the capacity of municipalities to incorporate Adaptation to Climate Change in their policies , instruments and interventions, through the facilitation of the exchange of experiences between institutions, technicians and specialists and the capacity building of local authorities
