Dead Combo will give a concert next Thursday, May 17th, at 21 pm, at the Cine-Teatro Louletano, bringing, for the first time to the Algarve, the new album of originals “Odeon Hotel”.

To reveal to the Algarve public the album that was the leader of the national top sales, the group presents itself live with a new line-up.

“Odeon Hotel” is the sixth album of originals by Dead Combo, which is now presented, in absolute Algarvean debut, in Loulé. The successor to “A Bunch of Meninos” (2014) was recorded in Lisbon, at Estúdios Namouche, during the month of September 2017.

Produced by Alain Johannes (Queen Of Stone Age, PJ Harvey, Chris Cornell, etc.), «this new album is the perfect synthesis of the Portugueseness and universality existing in the band's music», says Câmara de Loulé.

For the first time in Dead Combo's history, the disc will be distributed around the world with the seal of one of the biggest international publishers.

The history of Dead Combo, the duo formed by Tó Trips and Pedro Gonçalves, began in 2003 following an invitation from radio host Henrique Amaro, from Antena 3, to compose and record the song “Paredes Ambience”, included in the tribute album to Carlos Paredes “Perpetual Movements”.

The band's albums released so far have been widely praised in Portugal and abroad, receiving several awards for “Album of the Year”.

“Lusitânia Playboys” (2008), the third studio album, was even elected “Album da Década” by the newspaper Expresso.

In December 2014, crowning a year with more than 40 concerts performed, the Coliseu dos Recreios, in Lisbon, and the Teatro Rivoli in Porto, sold out. Also at the end of 2014, it was learned that “A Bunch of Meninos” was considered by readers of Blitz magazine as the best Portuguese album of 2014.

The 2015 Golden Globe for best band confirmed the national recognition of the work of Tó Trips and Pedro Gonçalves. In 2016, the band reinvents itself with the help of “Cordas da má fama” and presents itself in a more acoustic and sometimes surprising way, from North to South of Portugal, culminating with the release of a new album, the eighth of his career, «and reaffirming Dead Combo as one of the most interesting and important bands in the new Portuguese musical panorama», considers the Loulé autarchy.

Tickets for the show cost 10 euros, which goes down to 8 euros for adults over 65 and under 30 (Friend Card applicable). To buy tickets, click here

The show is aimed at people over 6 years old and lasts approximately 75 minutes.
